James Burt is qualified property professional and has been in private practice for over 30 years, specialising early in his career in the Retail and Leisure occupational agency markets. He spent over 12 years working for GVA / Avison Young before becoming an Independent Consultant working alongside BKL Property and as a Director at Watling. Prior to this James was a Director in Retail and Leisure agency at both JLL and Savills.
With a deep understanding of the retail, leisure and F&B markets James has advised a number of High Street multiple retailers, banks, ‘grab and go’ food operators, bars and restaurants, as well as institutional and private landlords such as The Crown Estate, Land Securities and Hammerson.
Over the last 10 years, James has worked across stakeholder groups on a number of high-profile restructuring and recovery projects including more recently, the portfolios occupied by Claire’s Accessories, Pizza Hut and Russell & Bromley.
