A part-completed housing development in picturesque Bideford in Devon has been brought to market by Watling Real Estate.
The developer Devonshire Homes Ltd went into administration in June 2026 and Jonathan Marston and Sarah Collins of Alvarez & Marsal Europe were appointed administrators.
Ian Whittaker, director of Watling Real Estate, said: “The site, The Grange, has planning permission for 225 houses, including 195 houses and 30 apartments.
“At the point of administrators being appointed, 112 of the properties had been built and sold.”
He explained that the site of approximately 15.7 acres is situated to the east of Manteo Way.
The development is part way through construction of Phases 3 and 4 out of 5. It contains a mix of two to five bedroom family homes and apartments.
“There is the opportunity to complete or build out and sell the remaining 113 homes and plots.
“Two houses have exchanged contracts and ten have been reserved at the time of going to market, giving the potential for early sales.”
Offers are invited for the freehold interest.
Bideford is a small historic port and market town which straddles the estuary of the River Torridge in north Devon. The development is situated on the eastern fringe of the town in an area known as East-the-Water.
The principal access is by road via the A386 from the south, and the A39 from the east and west.
